Pints for a Purpose: Support the Gorman Family

After a very active Summer, our Lansdowne neighbors, The Gorman Family, were just getting settled back into a school routine. They enjoyed a relaxing Labor Day Weekend with a visit to Bear Chase Brewing Company, and all were looking forward to cooler temps and everything related to Fall. However the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 4, 2018 became a day which changed the Gorman’s life. The oldest of 4 siblings at 9 years old, Quinn Gorman awoke with severe pain in his left leg. Later that day, after multiple doctor appointments and x-rays, Quinn was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left femur. Bone Cancer – two words a 9 year old should never have to hear.

Over the last four months our Super Quinn has been a warrior through 9 chemotherapy treatments; a surgery to remove the tumor which replaced 20 cm of his left femur with a titanium prosthesis, and over 2 months worth of overnight stays at INOVA Childrens Hospital. He has 9 additional rounds of chemotherapy scheduled over the next 12 weeks, and months of rehab ahead of him.

Many have asked how they can help and we feel it’s only fitting to come together at Bear Chase for a fun afternoon to raise a pint for a purpose! There will be live music from Hard Swimmin’ Fish and Flavour food truck will be on site as well! Bear Chase Brewing Company has committed to generously donate 20% of sales from the entire day to the Gorman family in support of Quinn.
